Chicago,
Illinois - Every year I fly to Chicago to visit one of my best friends.
We spend a lot of time at her place and in the suburbs nearby, but we
always spend a day or two in the big city. If you go to Chicago, I have
two recommendations, Cubs' Stadium and the Hancock building. There is a
big rivalry between the White Sox and the Cubs, and I am not choosing
sides, but the Cubs' Stadium is a unique experience. It is a smaller
old circular stadium that is very nostalgic to the beginnings of
baseball. The old buildings, mostly bars, across the street have
installed stadium seating on their rooftops that peer into the field
with tickets for sale. And you have to try a Chicago style hot dog with
relish, quartered tomatoes, pickle spears, and onions.
To finish off the night, visit the Hancock building. They have an
observatory that overlooks the city for a fee. If you are all
twenty-one or older, you can go to the bar nearby for free with the
purchase of a drink. They have great cocktails that you can sip while
staring down at the city. I have yet to go during lightning storm
season, but I've heard it's pretty amazing and scary at the same time.
